Getting to the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya
The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is actually located approximately 30km (19 miles) northeast of central Barcelona in the town of Montmeló, meaning there is some travelling required if you’re staying in Barcelona city centre.
Thankfully, it is a fairly simple task, with plenty of transport options to choose from. We have explained each one below for you.
Travelling from Barcelona to Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya by train
Montmeló is the station located nearest the track, but it is still a 45-minute walk away. There are a good number of taxis available from the station for those who don’t want to walk – it can be a little exhausting in the late summer heat!
If you are travelling from the city centre to Montmeló, you should take the R2 Nord (light green) from Sants, Passeig de Gracia or El Clot in the direction of Granollers or Maçanet Massanes. Tickets can be purchased for as little as €2.80 each way and the journey takes around 30 minutes. When it is an event weekend, trains tend to run every 20 minutes between Barcelona and Montmeló but these do get very crowded.

Getting to the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya by car
The journey via road to the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is pretty simple, no matter where you are coming from. If you are travelling from Barcelona Airport it will take approximately 45 minutes. Upon exiting the airport, take the C-17 road (Montmeló exit) or the AP-7 toll road and exit at either 13, 14 or 15. After the exit, the circuit car parks are clearly signposted and you should follow them accordingly. Plan ahead and ensure you are clear which car park you are situated in to avoid confusion.
Parking at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya
Parking is charged at a flat rate of approximately €25 for three days and must be booked in advance. There are over 32,000 spaces available, but you are advised to use the car park nearest to your grandstand.
- Car Park A – Grandstands H, C, G, B, N and General Admission
- Car Park A1 – Grandstand N and General Admission
- Car Park A3 – Grandstands H and I
- Car Park B – Grandstands H, C, G, B and General Admission
- Car Park C – Grandstands J, K, E, F, I and the Main Grandstand
- Car Park D – Grandstands L, M and General Admission
- Car Park F – Grandstands A, F, E, K, J
Travelling to the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya by taxi
It is very tricky to hail a cab from the city centre to the circuit on race day due to the busy nature of the city, but you may have more luck if you are travelling directly from the airport.
However, it is possible to pre-book. For a private transfer, you can expect to pay €60-€70.
Getting to the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya by bus
Sagalés are the provider of the shuttle bus service between Barcelona city centre and the circuit.
Buses from Barcelona depart from Estació del Nord (C/Ali Bei, 80). The station is situated next to the Arc de Triomf and connects with Metro and RENFE services. The return from the Circuit to Barcelona will be from Verneda del Congost street in Montmeló direction.
If you arrive by commuter train to the Montmeló station, Sagalés offer you a free bus service to the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

Where to stay at the Catalunya MotoGP
The Catalonia MotoGP is the second of four races taking place in Spain on the 2026 calendar, but this one has arguably the best accommodation options due to the circuit’s proximity to Barcelona.
The Barcelona F1 Grand Prix, also takes place at the same circuit. Our accommodation guide for that event can be applied to the Catalonia MotoGP, with various hotel options listed in our blog below.
Camping at Catalonia MotoGP
While limited and very quick to sell out, there is a camping option available for the Catalonia MotoGP located in the town of Montmeló.
This campsite is positioned on the southern edge of the circuit at the Can Guitet site, making it a prime location to base yourself for the race weekend if you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of Barcelona and go down the more authentic route. The entrance to the circuit is just a ten minute walk away.
Facilities are said to be of ‘reasonable quality’, with both toilets and showers included. The site is fairly level but hard, so you are advised to bring a comfortable camping mat or air mattress. It is highly recommended to book in advance of race weekend
Belangrijke informatie
For this race weekend, the circuit advises that due to traffic planning reasons, access to the circuit after 1pm is NOT guaranteed. It is recommended to arrive before noon to ensure smooth access.
