Awesome Weekend!

Absolutely unreal weekend. My first F1 race weekend and it was amazing. Spa is an cracking circuit and there were plenty of viewing points for bronze members around the circuit. Would definitely recommend the Belgium GP to other race goers. We camped on the Saturday night also which was absolutely fine. No issues with the camp site other than a few rowdy campers late at night until the early hours. Very well sign posted and easy to find. Plenty of traffic though as you would imagine. Be prepared to do a lot of walking though! Overall, amazing experience!

Great GP

One of the best GP in the world, there's no doubt. View from Gold 8 was excellent. Thursday's pit lane walk wasn't as I expected. Everyone can get in without control of tickets, so it was crowded. Everything on circuit is expensive, but on the other hand I was satisfied with WC and so on.

Spa Grand Prix 2019

Campsite (yellow) was pretty basic, but staff friendly. Access to the circuit was relatively convenient. Organisation within the ground was very good. Plenty going on for the fans and enough toilets and stalls for food and drink. The food and drink in the ground was extremely expensive, (approx. £3.20 for a can of coke and £6.50 for a portion of chips) with the use of the ticket system doing well to disguise this fact. Food choice was also very limited. Well organised, though.

Belgium Grand Prix

It was my first full F1 weekend and I have enjoyed it every minute there. We have stayed on the yellow campsite which is not too far away from the track (10-15 min walk). Atmosphere was just great, weather was fantastic, really couldn't ask for more. Brilliant experience, highly recommended to anyone.

Prepare to walk - even for decent toilets

Excellent weekend at Spa-Francorchamps, more than just the formula one on offer for a full weekend of entertainment. Yellow Camping was good value, pretty close (20m walk) to the circuit and comfortable site with on-site cafe, fantastic temporary shower blocks. Toilets were very much lacking though - they were disgusting and I refused to use them. Definitely pack your walking shoes! It’s a hilly affair but well worth the effort!

Very Disappointed

This is the third year that I have booked with you and have really enjoyed Silverstone and Barcelona. Unfortunately Belgium was a big disappointment. First we got set up which was easy and well organised then we had the walk to the pit lane on the Thursday evening, This was a nightmare as the walk was at least 3KM in heat of 25 degrees down a hill up a hill and through a forest with very unstable terrain. Everyone was diverted to another gate as the source entrance was not being used.. I am an able walker but my partner who is not quite so able found this walk strenuous and difficult. There was many people in the same situation with even worse mobility one lady in a mobility scooter. Then when we got there we discover that you can not use cash and it is only tokens which you have to buy so you have to queue for tokens then queue for refreshments. A sign on the token office was 35 euros for 10 tokens an example of price was 1 small beer 1 token so in my opinion a rip off. When we left after the Pit Walk we asked if there was a quicker walk to the camp site which one of the car park attendant said yes and pointed us in a different path. This path was at least 5KM and we got lost, my partner is 70 years old and after just the walk to the track he was struggling but to be sent in the wrong direction he was getting chest pains and suffering from dehydration. When we got back to the campsite we sat and I made something to eat and drink and we relaxed for the evening, and started to enjoy the atmosphere. When I booked the campsite I booked the family quiet area, but unfortunately we had a nightmare behind our tent. There was loud music shouting laughing and partying till at least 1 am then to add to this chaos fireworks were set off around our tents (Fire Hazard) Unfortunately the damage sustained to my partners knee through the first days walk was too bad to even attempt to walk anywhere for the rest of the weekend so we made the decision to leave the Grand Prix and book Hotels back to Calais for Monday. We watched the rest of the Grand Prix on tv at different Hotels. I am so disappointed that the weekend was such a stressful time as the last two years booking with you has been problem free and so enjoyable it is a real shame. I have bought these tickets every year for my partners Christmas present but he feels now that he does not want to return to attending the Grand Prix again and will just watch it on tv from now on. Organisation at the track was appalling and The amount of money the general public pay to enjoy this sport you would expect better. I am so sorry for this negative feedback but if we do not tell you then things will be the same next year for people with mobility issues. I am sure I am not the only one highlighting these issues.

The best venue - TERRIBLE FanZone

Spa is iconic, the race was amazing. Camping spot on. Amazing atmosphere. The FanZone was absolutely shocking though. Very little motor racing shown on the big screen. F1 needs to bring a new generation of motor racing fans to a brilliant show but having DJ’s playing music all day that people rarely danced to it not the way to do it. Why aren’t you showing F3, F2 all the F1 sessions, how about the race itself?? We sat there on Sunday with 100’s of others waiting for the DJ to stop at 3pm presuming the race would be shown. At 3.05 we were told it would be on, at 3.09 when we asked again we were told it wouldn’t be shown. You let motor racing fans down badly. We ended up in a crowded fenced in wire fence pen. Thanks for that. It has been an amazing weekend (we had 3 day tickets at Speed Corner but thought we’d like watch the race on the screen with a view of Eau Rouge. Completely ruined the feeling we had all weekend. Show all the formula’s sessions/racing with commentary explaining what is happening - educate a new breed of motor sport fans. There were so many children there with parents and you let them down. Spa is the best track (that comes from an English motor racing fan who adores Silverstone, Suzuka, Interlagos etc), with a unique opportunity for families to stay close by and engage and learn about the sport. So frustrating, how could you have missed such a simple opportunity. The FanZone is for ‘motorsport’ fans, not ‘music’ fans. If wanted to sit and watch music while camping I’d have gone to Glastonbury.

Excellent venue, good facilities

Opted for yellow camping and gold stand tickets which were an excellent investment with short walk to the circuit and seats opposite the finishing line and pits. Pros: beautiful venue, fantastic circuit and atmospheric social venues. Cons: Fanzone closed very early in evening & the campsite toilets were very noisily cleaned at 4-5am each morning; not good after a late night!

No Gluten free Food at Belgium 2019 FORMULA 1 GRAND PRIX

Sadly the catering was poor, very poor, No Gluten free food available. only chips available. Most staff didn't understand gluten free. (hired in help) and when it came to drink... well what can I say....Only Heineken beer, no wine, no fizz, no cider. I was left to drink water, coffee or coke. Couldn't believe there wasn't anything better to eat, It was so much better in Abu Dhabi last November. They even sold Cider and wine and its a country that doesn't drink.

Booking was easy and good with bookf1.com

Belgium circuit is fantastic, great view from Gold 2. Food choice is very poor, I'm gluten free and chip was the only option. all other food had gluten, couldn't even buy a salad, Most staff didn't even know what gluten was. Drinking is a big problem as well, they only sold Heineken beer, no wine, no cider , otherwise its coke or water. Booking with bookf1.com was simple and easy and tickets arrive a couple of weeks before we left the UK (Lanyards and a sleeve would have been nice, not supplied)

Bring your walking boots!!

First F1 race experience, and Spa francorchamps didn't disappoint. 2km trek in to the race track. Spent the Saturday pretty much scouting the track to get a good place on Sunday. Covered 20km walking and the terrain can be somewhat challenging so make sure you bring suitable footwear. Bring your own food and beers as the onsite catering as you may expect is extortionate. Just remember not to bring glass bottled drinks. If I was to go again I probably wouldn't go Bronze. Myself and group felt that the bronze areas filled too quickly and very uncomfortable. You literally have to pitch 1st thing to get a decent spot and not move. Also many of the bronze areas are on rough, steep and uncomfortable terrain. Apart from the above problem with the bronze areas, there needs to be more screens and bigger ones. At many points in the race I felt out of loop of what was happening in the race.

A great experience

Very well organized. Showers with warm water (most of the time) were available in the yellow camping, there was a restaurant right at the camping site with meals and beverages. The FC-Ster yellow camping was a bit difficult to find though. The venue itself was well thought, it was easy to get around. The prices for food and beverages was higher at the venue, but acceptable. Cheaper beer could be found in the little stores in the village. The race was amazing.

Experience going downhill big time

The race itself it would rate 10 stars, not 1 fault there. Unfortunately what lets it down (and it's getting worse every year!): - Facilities, 3 Dixie toilets for 100's of visitors - Extra charges for 'your own' Dixie toilets (which don't get cleaned) - shower cost EUR 5.00 - Toilets on race track are getting blocked and visitors have to use other toilets or campside Dixie toilets. The queues are very long and you have to wait ages (anybody thinking of children??) - Midnight you have to switch of music or the music box will be taken away

Excellent racing venue poor camp site

We had weekend bronze general admission tickets for the race and stayed at the FC Ster campsite which was sold under yellow camping. I would not advise anyone to use this campsite. The toilets were vile, the shower blocks were also dirty and were not cleaned. At 5am each morning a lorry would come and wake everyone up as they emptied the toilets. The campsite rules stated no fireworks or loud music but both fireworks and loud music were a problem until early hours of the morning and there was no visible policing of this. No entertainment was provided at the campsite. There was hardly any security as anyone could enter the campsite off the street. The entrance to the circuit was also a 2km walk away. This was not as close as it appeared on the maps provided. We enjoyed the race weekend but the campsite was a huge let down. I previously bought yellow camping tickets at Silverstone and they were better value for money as the campsite was well policed and maintained with entertainment also provided.

Great Circuit and Event, poor fan facilities

Great circuit one of the best, good support races, lots going on all weekend. Big crowds so moving about takes time, no major problems at the gates, got in and out with no major problems. Huge issue with lack of toilet and facilities at the circuit quite simple barbaric and no excuses In this day and age. Given the prices paid the organisers should be ashamed at the lack of provision. As an example on our section 10, there were no facilities on Sunday as they had run out of water!!!

A great Grand Prix weekend ruined by a DJ

The whole weekend was great - the track walk, seeing Eau Rouge for the first time, seeing some of the drivers, the practice sessions, and the races. It's just such a shake that the arrogant, annoying DJ on the Hanger Straight (where we were for the race) ruined race day for us. He was trying to 'force' everyone to have a good time (e.g. "Who can make the most noise - the left side or the right side?" Does anyone really care?) all day and the music was so loud (from 7/8 am) that we gave up trying to talk to each other whilst it was on. Please let fans create their own atmosphere and enjoy their day from now on.
