Spa-Francorchamps 2019

I would definitely recommend this race as one to go to! The race day atmosphere was a little bit gloomier after Anthoine Hubert's Fatal Crash the day before, with the circuit organisers leaving Pictures of him at each entrance to sign. I stayed in Charleroi with my mum and was very happy when I initially found that my Child's Race Day pas was a mere £18! We stayed right across the river from the main train station where the coach would pick us up on Race Day. If there's anywhere that you should sit, definitely go to the Blanchimont Corner, or if you're there very early then get a good spot at the Les Combes chicane.

Awesome Weekend!

Absolutely unreal weekend. My first F1 race weekend and it was amazing. Spa is an cracking circuit and there were plenty of viewing points for bronze members around the circuit. Would definitely recommend the Belgium GP to other race goers. We camped on the Saturday night also which was absolutely fine. No issues with the camp site other than a few rowdy campers late at night until the early hours. Very well sign posted and easy to find. Plenty of traffic though as you would imagine. Be prepared to do a lot of walking though! Overall, amazing experience!

Spa Grand Prix 2019

Campsite (yellow) was pretty basic, but staff friendly. Access to the circuit was relatively convenient. Organisation within the ground was very good. Plenty going on for the fans and enough toilets and stalls for food and drink. The food and drink in the ground was extremely expensive, (approx. £3.20 for a can of coke and £6.50 for a portion of chips) with the use of the ticket system doing well to disguise this fact. Food choice was also very limited. Well organised, though.

Great choice of views for General Admission

A great circuit and good value for those who don't want to splash out on a grandstand. This circuit has lots of great viewing places for general admission tickets and those with a three day pass get access to the Thursday Pitwalk. Set in a beautiful location and one of the longest tracks it can get a bit hilly in places so take good walking shoes. Parking in the green zone was better than expected. It was right next to the camp site and down a long narrow lane that also fed into other carparks so we anticipated a long queue to get out on Sunday. We stayed at the track a little longer after the race (there's still entertainment in the Fanzone and you can walk on the track) and when we did get to the car it took us an hour to get on the main road - not bad all things considering. Slight downside is that all food must be bought with tokens that you have to buy in a bulk of 10 for 35 euros, meaning we probably spent more on food than we would have liked. Also, many of the token kiosks were only accepting cash on the Sunday. Fortunately this circuit does allow you to bring in your own food, which we did instead on the Sunday. Slightly annoyed that the schedule of events that arrived with our tickets wasn't entirely correct (has never happened before) but otherwise great service as ever from BookF1.com

exciting and controversial

Attending the F1 live race for the first time - exciting and very interesting. Both as organization and events and as a visit to the legendary F1 venue. Saturday's incident, of course, overshadowed the overall mood, but on the other hand showed people's empathy and respect for the personal tragedy of Antoine Hubert's relatives. A visit to the Spa Grand Prix made a truly unforgettable experience. Abstaining from otherwise personal experiences, I cannot fail to share the disgusting impression left by the journey after the race. The modest infrastructure, coupled with the inept organization on the part of the police, caused untold chaos. Leaving the track really shortly after the finish, in the Le Combe turn area, we were stuck in a congestion where we stood in the car for 2 hours absolutely motionless - 2.5 meters in 2 hours. I'm sure it was worse for a lot of people. I believe that for such a place as the F1 Spa Grand Prix is, this is unacceptable.

Every venue has different rules!

Having been to 2 other F1 races (Melbourne 2016 and Monza 2017), I was massively disappointed with not being able to access all stands as a 3 day Bronze ticket holder on the practice & qualifying sessions. This is allowed at other venues! There is no access to free drinking water yet the track is huge and you need to walk a couple of miles to get to the fan zone. The fan zone was small and not very interactive compared to the others I've been to. You are required to buy tokens for food & drink for €3.50 each and then the tokens get you very little and the prices are set so you get little choice of how to spend your money! A 33cl beer was 1 token (€3.50!), an ice lolly was 1 token, a bottle of water was 1 token. A pizza was 5 tokens!! Ridiculous! There should be more screens for the bronze ticket holders as the stands were only half full, this venue is very popular for the general admission visitors but there were too few screens so everyone crammed into small areas. The speakers for commentary were giving an echo feedback so I couldn't hear a thing! Luckily I took my headphones and tuned in to the track radio or BBC Radio 5 Live for proper commentary. Free shuttle bus between L'eau Rouge campsite & the track was useful but it didn't do the return journey on race day. The secure, free bicycle parking by Blanchimont entrance was excellent.

General Admission

For several years now I have attended on race day only taking the shuttle bus from Brussels Midi. Getting a little expensive now for race ticket and charge for shuttle introduced this year. All worked well and circuit has made some improvements for pedestrian access around circuit by widening footpaths in places. Also traffic access chaos of 2 years ago seems to have been eliminated.

Spa

Fantastic race to go and see. General admission tickets are fine, especially if you are willing to walk round he circuit to find quieter areas. Downsides, food is expensive, toilets not always working and getting away from the circuit by car if horrendous.

Very Disappointed

This is the third year that I have booked with you and have really enjoyed Silverstone and Barcelona. Unfortunately Belgium was a big disappointment. First we got set up which was easy and well organised then we had the walk to the pit lane on the Thursday evening, This was a nightmare as the walk was at least 3KM in heat of 25 degrees down a hill up a hill and through a forest with very unstable terrain. Everyone was diverted to another gate as the source entrance was not being used.. I am an able walker but my partner who is not quite so able found this walk strenuous and difficult. There was many people in the same situation with even worse mobility one lady in a mobility scooter. Then when we got there we discover that you can not use cash and it is only tokens which you have to buy so you have to queue for tokens then queue for refreshments. A sign on the token office was 35 euros for 10 tokens an example of price was 1 small beer 1 token so in my opinion a rip off. When we left after the Pit Walk we asked if there was a quicker walk to the camp site which one of the car park attendant said yes and pointed us in a different path. This path was at least 5KM and we got lost, my partner is 70 years old and after just the walk to the track he was struggling but to be sent in the wrong direction he was getting chest pains and suffering from dehydration. When we got back to the campsite we sat and I made something to eat and drink and we relaxed for the evening, and started to enjoy the atmosphere. When I booked the campsite I booked the family quiet area, but unfortunately we had a nightmare behind our tent. There was loud music shouting laughing and partying till at least 1 am then to add to this chaos fireworks were set off around our tents (Fire Hazard) Unfortunately the damage sustained to my partners knee through the first days walk was too bad to even attempt to walk anywhere for the rest of the weekend so we made the decision to leave the Grand Prix and book Hotels back to Calais for Monday. We watched the rest of the Grand Prix on tv at different Hotels. I am so disappointed that the weekend was such a stressful time as the last two years booking with you has been problem free and so enjoyable it is a real shame. I have bought these tickets every year for my partners Christmas present but he feels now that he does not want to return to attending the Grand Prix again and will just watch it on tv from now on. Organisation at the track was appalling and The amount of money the general public pay to enjoy this sport you would expect better. I am so sorry for this negative feedback but if we do not tell you then things will be the same next year for people with mobility issues. I am sure I am not the only one highlighting these issues.

F1 racing weekend

My 1st F1 event and certainly will not be the last, had a fantastic weekend end from booking my tickets to the arrangement of transportation to circuit was brilliant so convenient. Although a very sad day on Saturday with the death of such a young driver but great respect was shown from every driver across the f1 family and fans. #familyfriendsracinglove

Great venue but awful traffic controls

The race weekend was great and it is a lovely circuit to visit. There weren’t many different food options but they were all reasonably priced via a token system (minimum €35 euro for 10 tokens). My hotel was u see an hour away but due to multiple road closures and horrifically unclear signage and re- routing the journey home took 4 hours! I would suggest considering this if you wish to visit, but it is one of the nicer circuits to view F1.

Exciting first F1

Very good track with numerous good vantage points with the general admission ticket. Awful toilet facilities, no where near enough for the amount of people. This point is mentioned in nearly all comments that I read about regarding Spa, more needs to be done as this is a really disappointing.
