1st Grand Prix ever

This is the 1st Grand Prix that we have attended. We had a great time. It was very busy but we expected that it would be. Our seats in Silver 2 were fantastic with a great view of the start and finish line and also a huge screen in front of us. We thoroughly enjoyed our entire day and will be doing another Grand Prix event when we can - perhaps a city circuit next time in Singapore. Very good planning, a great day

Official, efficient and fun!

We only managed to make it for the Qualifying but that was good enough as we were witness to one of or thee best of the season. Great seats, Silver 2, overlooked the start straight, podium and garages. Take plenty of fluids, suncream and scran with you.

Perfect

I enjoyed a lot of the experience GP Hungary 2018, Circuit relatively close to the city, The trip to the circuit was by taxi, I paid about 30 Euros I went early I did not find transit, got to the circuit eating and drinking with huge sites, more or less affordable prices beer at 3.50 Euros, circuit with huge bathrooms, was immense heat with water at disposal. At the end of the race there were still doors to see the podium of the race. Return by bus or taxi. The taxi had a huge and slow queue I opted for the bus provided by the organization of the clear course also with a lot more affluence more or less orderly with the help of police, buses in sufficient quantity to transport people, quick trip to bus station near the Puskas stadium I did transfer to metro with station in the same place, easy and fast, I've been to other circuits much more difficult with transport like Monaco, Spa, Monza. I advise this Grand Prix as Budapest City to visit with points of great interest. Plenty of terraces and restaurants at affordable prices.

An arduous but exciting journey

First time at a GP event, loved it and would do it again. It would have been better for fans if they could have been expedited more efficiently through venue and parking.

Great experience

Great time at F1 but just be aware when leaving the venue and what exit to leave. Choose a smaller exit (we didn’t unfortunately) and waited 3 hours for a taxi finally got back into the city at 9.45!!!! After leaving at 5pm.

Amazing!

The whole weekend was an amazing experience, which I can't quite put into words. Everything about the city of Budapest and the formula one was incredible and I would definitely recommend to anyone who is thinking about going. Our seats (silver 2) were perfect! We were positioned on the home straight and sat only a few metres away from gold (which you pay a lot more money for). The only downside to the trip is transport. We got taxis to and from the centre of Budapest to the Hungaroring. Prices were not extortionate however on the Sunday were were queuing for approximately 2 hours in full sun. So if I was going again, I would recommend hiring a car or a helicopter if you can afford it. Overall, the trip was amazing and people have to go and check it out!

The weather was hotter than the race!

Another F1 track ticked off the list, though it wasn't the spiciest race I've seen, the track itself had lots to offer! The cool down pools were fabulous and much needed after the 40 min walk uphill, more like the 1st summit of Everest, from where the free bus drops you off! (Get on at arpid bus station). Plenty of entertainment in the fan zone, great party atmosphere when the DJ was on and after qualli some of the drivers came on stage, Haas, Renault and Williams. Plenty of food and drink options and they do let you take in your own drinks which I have never seen at another circuit! Great for keeping your water up the trek to get to silver and gold seats! The journey home after the race is normally long, however once down the 40 min hill, there was plenty of buses lined up to take you home! Well organised by the local police! Home as quick as we went! A great circuit, just a shame little overtakes But to be expected here!

Highly Reccomend

The Grand Prix was very well organised in Hungary. The traffic was very well managed and parts of the motorway were sectioned off which aided the flow of traffic through and causing less distraction for non Grand Prix goers using the roads. It was very clean and tidy. I would highly recommend going to the Hungaroring as overall it was very well organised and a great hassle free experience.

Hungary 2014

I could have done with more information on getting to the circuit. I was staying at the Ramada Hotel and their advise was to get a taxi as it was difficult to get to otherwise, which I did on the Friday at a cost of £35.00 one way, so this was going to add up to £210 in taxi's for the weekend. I then found that there was a free bus to take you to and from the circuit to Budapest. This bus was OK but in was a good walk up hill in 31 degrees of heat, so not the most pleasant and some people were struggling with it.

Hungarian Grand Prix

Had a great weekend at the Hungarian Grand Prix. We had a great view of the drivers and cars. Facilities at the circuit were great with a wide range of food and drink and the toilets were immaculate concidering the amount of people there!! Disappointed that we could not get near the drivers or the pits on the Thursday afternoon but all in all a great weekend and an even better race!!!

Expectations Exceeded

I chose this Grand Prix mostly due to convenience-we wanted to try a foreign race but was always going to be dependant on time of year with school holidays as the person I went with works at a school. I did not have that high expectations as Hungary isn't always the most exciting race... I am happy to say I was very wrong and based on my experience would recommend this to anyone thinking of doing a foreign race! Let's start with access- easy and very cheap! We stayed in central Budapest and used a 72hr travel pass (approx £12 for the whole wknd)- this gave us unlimited access to the underground and overground trains. In order to reach the track we had to take the M2 metro from the centre (Deac Ferenc Ter) right to the end (Ors Veser Ter)-approx 15-20mins and then literally cross the road to jump on the regular overground train (a bit rickety but does the job) bound for Godollo. There is a Spar in between the stations which is very convenient for stocking up on supplies/water. The train ride is about 25mins and we got off at Szilasliget which is a 1.5mile walk from the track literally in a straight line up the road and across a field. The circuit itself is in a valley so its downhill from every entry gate. You can only walk around about 60% of the circuit-from just after T5-Just before T1. We used Friday to explore this. We were in Silver 2 and had a good view from the last corner down most of the pit straight and could see pits and podium and had views of the cars going between T11 and 12. As well as this we could see 2 big screens so did not miss any action...and there was plenty of it in the 2014 race! I have to say the here the grandstands are a bit old and wooden and there were some instances of planks breaking under people's feet, which was a touch worrying. Also if you are general access you are not allowed to go right up to the fence, which was a little strange given the 2 separate fences between you and the track! Facilities-wise the usual beer/sausages/burgers/coffee/ice cream fare is on offer, all the stands sell drinks which are a godsend as you can only take 1.5l of liquid per person into the track and with temperatures over 30 degrees at times that won't be enough. I found the pricing to be ok, if anything its a bit cheaper than Silverstone. Overall I was very impressed- the biggest challenge is coping with the heat, staying hydrated enough is the most important thing for enjoying the experience. I was very happy with the travel, but there are taxis/buse services available that would take you closer/qucker, but taxi would have set us back 7 times more for the whole weekend, but if you had a pool of people to split costs then it could work out better for you. I would definitely recommend staying in the city as Budapest is a brilliant place, there's lots to and see around the racing and the shops open long into the evening so you have time to have a lookaround. There are lots of good places to eat and drink and the atmosphere in Vorosmarty Square is excellent on race weekend! Definitely highly recommended, I cannot guarantee the racing will be as great every year though!!

fANTASTIC WEEKEND

We had a fantastic week end. seats were far better than expected. We saw all the action at the back of the grid and then saw the cars as they came into the pits. The food was very expensive and not great but its the same in many other venues. It was very hot with no shade We brought our umbrella along worked well for keeping the sun off. I also brought a couple of flannels and ice cold water for cooling down. Be kind to yourselves...dont get the train and walk. Get a cab ! We had to collect our tickets when we were there. It was a 40 min walk to the station then another 40 min walk around to the main entrance. That said, there were a few taxi's at the train station. i wish we had taken one. The venue isnt all shiny and corporate, it reminds me of Le Manns a real old style circuit i loved it. I had read a lot of complaints about the taxi service. However i have to say they really did seem to get there act together. we waited an hour after the race finished and then waited in line for about 30 mins. I will return again next year thank you for a great weekend
