A washout!

I'm surprised that feedback has been requested after the fiasco that was the British MotoGP last weekend. Firstly the Park & Ride venue was changed at 2 days notice and then the race schedule itself changed the night before! I wonder how many frustrated fans didn't get the message. Most importantly the schedule change achieved nothing as the forecast rain arrived on cue well before the race time of 11.30. It should also have been clear that there was no likelihood of the rain stopping until early evening at the latest so the constant procrastination from the organisers was frustrating. I can appreciate that everyone wanted the racing to go ahead, but it just wasn't going to happen. It would have been more considerate to everyone involved - teams and spectators - to make the brave decision to cancel much earlier and save the extended misery.

No race lots of money spent

I hope we receive a refund for the moto gp. We travelled from Inverness the highlands and spent money on the gp tickets, hotel and flights all costing around £800 plus for the weekend. It would of been worth it if the race went ahead sadly it did not. Not only did we have delays on the Saturday..we booked the pit walk and half of the garages were closed £20 odd a ticket it certainly was not worth it. We wouldn’t of visited if we had known the weekend was going to be cancelled.

Pointless waiting around

We were so excited for our first Moto GP experience. Main race had been brought forward by 90 minutes due to forecast rain, so we arrived nice and early. Start was then delayed by rain, and then began the charade of reviewing the track every half hour or hour to see if the race could commence. It was clear to everyone that there would be no racing until at least late afternoon, but there seemed to be an inexplicable reluctance for the race committees to admit that. There are no wet weather facilities for the spectators, so we had little to distract us while we waited in the wind and rain each hour for another disappointing and inconclusive announcement. Announcements remained confident that racing would take place on the day until around 4.30pm (5 hours after scheduled race time), when it was finally admitted that the race was cancelled. Since we know that the race committees have access to much better weather forecasting data than us, it is inconceivable that they really expected any racing to take place between 11.30am and 3pm, despite keeping spectators hanging around for half-hourly updates. The purpose of these can only have been crowd control, which was a terrible experience for every member of the crowd. We were deliberately misled, and kept waiting around in the driving rain for no good reason, which is inexcusable.

A shambles from start to finish

Due to weather forecast the race was moved forward to 11:30. Everyone scrambled to get there early and once the rain set in, it didn’t stop. Race Direction kept delaying the early inevitable decision to cancel racing, performing track safety inspections every 30 mins, despite no let up in the rain. This left at least 90,000 people standing around soaked to the skin, gale force winds battering them, and no decision was made until 4:30. Some trade stands were closed at 2:30, food and drinks were a poor standard and very overpriced. £4.90 for a small coffee? Terrible experience. Cost me £700 to get to silverstone with not one minute racing. Expecting a full ticket refund at least.

Wash out

Silverstone cannot be responsible for the weather but to make loyal paying fans wait around for over 6 hours wet and cold before making a decision that was obvious at 11.30 just to try and see if they could get the lads out for even 2 race laps and save refunds was disgusting all the boys making the money grabbing Descion were nice and warm and dry

Wicked, can't wait for next year

Great weekend, the facilities are getting better and better at Silverstone, the trade stands are much better laid out than previously, the park and ride was great, not used it before, the choice of food and drink stands were great.

British moto gp

Fantastic experience, park and ride well organised but drivers need to be more experienced at turning into small spaces as bus I was on was driven in to concrete post and window smashed over passengers. No concern shown by driver. Glass all over my wife and glass on carpet following morning from bags!!

Better organised and delivered.

The whole package was much smoother than last year; from the Park & Ride to the management of the crowds, despite the increased security. Race times were also better for me too. All topped off by the great weather. See you next year,

Brillant MotoGp

Just a line to say what a great day at Silverstone. The tickets and service provided was excellent. No problems apart from the traffic at the end of the day. Not as bad as last year. Thank You

Well organised except for too many people on pedal bikes inside and shuttle buses never arriving

Far better organised

Last year the only fault was getting home after the racing it took us 3.5 hours to get out the car park there wasn't a steward or policeman to be seen anywhere. Gladly this year that was put right well organised and lots of stewarding we even used the park and ride at Towcester race course on Sunday which also worked well . Well done Silverstone you have now got I would have said it was a faultless event this year ??

Great weather, racing, noise.

The park and ride at Towcester meant access and departure was quick and simple. Entry to Silverstone couldn't be simpler with security measures kept to a minimum. The sun shone all day so it was great to have stand seats in the shade. The warm up laps and the three races were well spaced. There was an hour or so to make a tour of the track to visit the many stalls. All three races saw plenty of place changes and some spills. The lasting memory is the sheer gut wrenching noise of the Moto GP bikes as they passed the stand opening fully their throttles.

Brilliant day out

Our journey to the race course park and ride went extremely smoothly from the car park Attendants to the coach driver all very polite. once at the race course we had to have a very good look at all the merchandise on sale which was of an excellent choice as was the amount of food and drink to choose from. Excellent seating in Copse C which being a hot day we were grateful for the last row up top in the grand stand with a cool breeze at our backs. It was all topped off by some brilliant racing all round. All in all I will be back very soon Thanks for a great day out.

MotoGP 2017

Tickets arrived as expected, great seat allocation (woodcote B row C) plus I booked park & ride at towcester racecourse. Lots of buses waiting (we were on 1st one), got out & onto motorway with no delay at all Obviously some of this is down to silverstone organisation rather than bookmoto.

Fantastic day

Whoever booked the weather this year needs a promotion! Travelling to and from the circuit using the park and ride was really quick and easy. The staff at the gates and walking round the circuit were very helpful, just wish we'd gone for the full 4 days as we had in previous years-will definitely be doing this next year.
