Things to do

Portimao boasts a wide selection of water based activities, such as jet skiing, snorkelling, paddle boarding and dolphin watching. If you would like to explore the beautiful coast line you can also take a boat trip out to the hidden caves along the coast.

If staying on dry land is more your style, then there are plenty of mountain bike trails to try out, golf courses to sample or you could simply try your luck at the famous Portimao casino.

For those wanting to take in some local culture, a trip to the Portimao museum is a must, as is the Santa Caterina fortress and the Megalithic Monument of Alcalar.

Weather

The weather is moderate in the Algarve in November, however temperatures can drop in the evening, so we would recommend taking layers to ensure you are prepared for all eventualities.
