The French Grand Prix is known as ‘The Summer Race’. Circuit Paul Ricard is located right on the French Riviera, popular with holidaymakers and campers throughout the season. That makes this race great for anyone looking to combine a holiday with the race. Locally, you can discover the cities of Marseille and Toulon while smaller communes closer to the circuit offer an authentic French experience. With the race taking place in July, the weather reaches a scorching 28°C and is a great time to visit before the peak summer holiday period hits the region. On track, the Circuit Paul Ricard is an eclectic one, with long straights, tight chicanes and long sweeping bends, showcasing everything the best Formula 1 cars have to offer. Die-hard racing fans will want to be there early, as the weekend before hosts the nostalgic French Historic Grand Prix, with hundreds of cars from decades of racing in action. In 2021, French racing brand Alpine made their debut as a rebranded Renault F1 team, while Frenchmen and race winners Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon will be looking to impress their home crowd. Plus, the second round of the ever-popular W Series will form part of the support race programme.
