Racing under the lights at the Singapore Grand Prix is a blistering, brutal experience for drivers. But for ticket-holding fans at the Marina Bay Circuit, it’s a joyous weekend of intense racing and top-class entertainment from start to finish. Tickets to be at the 2023 event are now on sale.
Singapore was the site of the very first night race in Formula 1 back in 2008. Over 1,500 lights illuminate the spectacular Marina Bay circuit, complete with 23 of the most challenging corners across this blistering 5km circuit.
The grandstands at the Singapore Grand Prix are befitting of this awesome race. The Pit Grandstand overlooks the buzzing start grid as the race gears up, with stands at Turn 1 and Turn 2 in a prime spot to catch first-lap action. The Bay Grandstand is an enormous stand that holds 27,000 people who experience the world’s greatest race cars storming underneath their seats.
The race has witnessed many memorable moments throughout its history. From epic wins by the likes of Fernando Alonso, Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton to big shunts and a tonne of controversy. The safety car has made an appearance in every single Singapore Grand Prix, averaging more than one per race – proving its various difficulties.
But for the fans, the weekend is a far more pleasant ride. Discovering the vibrant city throughout race weekend is a delight, while some of the world’s top music acts are set to perform live at the end of each day’s racing. Red Hot Chilli Peppers, The Killers, Muse, Ariana Grande, Calvin Harris, Duran Duran and Kylie Minogue are among just some of the massive acts who have performed at the Singapore Grand Prix.
