Description

The Copse corner is a fast-right-hand corner that pushes the drivers to the limit. Following a short acceleration along the National Pit Straight, the drivers will break sharply into Copse Corner, before accelerating quickly towards the famous Maggots and Becketts section of this track. Copse A is located on the entrance to the corner, so will give you a great view of the cars as they accelerate away.

Six fields park and ride

After some truly awful parking experiences in the past I thought I’d try a different approach this year and couldn’t be more pleased that I did. Plenty of parking, frequent busses, no delays and right to the gate. There were literally hundreds of busses waiting after the race, and we were back at sixfields and I. Our car an hour after the end of the race, All in all it was spot on, no complaints from me.

Fantastic first time experience

This was our first Grand Prix and we all really enjoyed it. We went for just the main event. We arrived there before 7 am, which seemed to work out well. The atmosphere for the whole day was incredible. My advice would be to arrive as early as you can and leave when the evening entertainment is in full flow because of the queues to get out. Also take some fold out chairs, drink (free water available) and as much food as possible as we found the food kind of tasteless. And suncream and hats. We’re definitely going to book for next year.

Brilliant . Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant., brilliant

Grand Prix tickets given to me for my 70th Birthday by my family. Always watch the races on TV but can't compare to actually going one. Silverstone organisation was excellent, presentation and displays especially the Red Arrows. Would love to go again if the finances permit. Thankyou Silverstone.

A fabulous fun-filled day out

As this was our first time of actually attending a meeting after watching it on tv for years, we were not disappointed. Didn't quite know what to expect, but there was plenty to do and walk around and see all day, really surprised to watch other races happening on the track to that was enjoyable. Every single member if staff we came across were so polite and friendly. There were plenty of food stands and toilets dotted about.

British GP shouldn't be missed

We are avid followers of F1 and watch all races however this is the first time we have actually attended a race. What an amazing experience :-) We arranged park and ride from Sixfields stadium to allow easier access to the MI. This was extremely well organised and got us into Silverstone within 1/2 hour. I would recommend park & ride for those attending the race weekend. There are lots of people to ask if you're unsure where you which way to go. We had general admission tickets which we originally thought that a stadium seat would be better. Not so, you can locate yourself in many areas around the circuit although it is a good idea to have an idea where you want to watch the race and go straight there and get your spot secured. We had seen other recommendations to go early and they were right. We found our spot and were all settled by 7.30am. Although it's early there is so much going on the time goes really quickly before the race. The advantage of stadium seating is that you don't have to be up at 4.45am but if you don't mind an early start then I would recommend general admittance. Take a camping chair and some snacks. Food and drink is expensive at the event as you would expect but we found it was all part of the experience. Toilets are what you'd expect at a large event so not particularly great - take some tissues as not always paper provided. Lots of warm up races to see which are really good to build the excitement. Red Arrow display was an added bonus. The race experience was amazing and of course a fantastic result for Lewis fans which we are. We took a radio but we didn't need it as there is commentary if you locate yourself near one. Good idea to be near a large screen so you can keep track of the race rather than just at your position. Good idea to linger afterwards to let some of the crowds go. We left hour and a half after the race finished but it was still busy then. Easy to get our bus back but we thought the buses would be given priority over other traffic which they weren't. Anyhow still got back to Sixfields in 40 minutes. Onward to the MI was no major problems, just normal road works. All I in all it was a fantastic experience and one I'm so glad we've enjoyed. Would highly recommend it to F1 fans to experience a live race.

GREAT

Travelling to and from the track was good and the facilities at the venue where also really good. Food/Drinks where expensive but expected, also just a little complaint but as a vegan I could only buy chips so an option for vegans/vegetarians would be cool. Apart from that everything was great! Well worth going !

British GP Silverstone

My Son and I had a great time, but we will take bikes next time, Woodlands was buzzing with loads of entertainment, as was the circuit, we stayed from Thur thro Sun, leaving the circuit approx. 15:30 took around 20 minuets to get off, with public roads a little slow, but nothing serious ... the worst part was loosing one of our tickets somewhere on Saturday, however one phone call to Book F1 ( straight through no button pushing or bad music) Lauren @ Book F1 arranged for us to collect a replacement from Silverstone welcome centre, so within one hour we were sorted, no fuss, no problem, later we saw on Facebook the experience of Mr Ian Smart, faced with a similar problem but dealing with Silverstone direct (poor man) .. please check it out. So thanks a million Lauren & regards Chris & Harry Cork

Great Weekend

The facilities are by far the best of any other GP we have been to and the roving Grandstand seats for the Friday and Saturday allow you to watch from a different stand although you need to be in early for Saturday. We have done many GPs all over the world but Silverstone have now got it right . Lets hope they agree a mutual conclusion to keep it there after 2019.

Race day Sunday with family

We had a brilliant time, got there early 9am to walk round and find a good spot to sit. Def take seats and picnic blanket as lots of gravel in places to sit. Loads for the children (aged 6 &9yrs old) to do with activities and different experiences and they were pretty much all free -which was great as it meant they could do everything they wanted to do and most queues were small and moved fast! Lots of walking, we did 16,000 steps- wear comfy shoes and pram from small children! Down sides was very expensive food and drinks (£7 for two mr whippy ice creams, £3 bottle water) so picnic is best. No glasses , knifes allowed thou. car parking in public car park wasn't very clearly signposted or sign posted enough on route to car park so we panicked a few times if we were going the right way. After the race they shut a few gates around the circuit with out warning so it was a lot of walking to and fro and asking people how to get back to our car park, each official Told us a different route once we got to a gate we had be directed to and had been shut already- staff wasn't clear on what gates/paths shut and when - which left us walking A very long way round back to find our car park. Not expected when paying to park close to circuit. Fantastic day all round thou willl def be returning!!

Brilliant weekend. Woodlands camping added a festival experience to watching great racing.

star

First time we'd been to Silverstone and we had an amazing weekend. We took the motorhome to Woodlands campsite and the festival environment there really added to the whole weekend. We booked seats in Copse and I would possibly advise against this if you're staying at Woodlands as it is the opposite end of the track. There isn't a shuttle so it's a 40 minute walk around the circuit. I think I would choose Stowe next time as it's much closer. The food stands provide an amazing selection and we ate at them every meal except breakfast. We took beers and cold drinks into the circuit in a small cool bag with ice block. I would take binoculars as you can be a little way from a screen and it's difficult to see timings and number of laps without them.

Spectator experience

I watched all three days with general admission tickets. Overall the food, entertainment and toilet facilities where very good. I watched the race at Vale and have one complaint......WHY WERE THE JOHNNY WALKER ADVERT BOARDS SO HIGH? HIGHER THAN THE BARRIERS....THIS RUINED THE RACE FOR MANY FANS AND CHILDREN..THEY COULD GET CLOSE TO THE TRACK AND SEE THE CARS....SCANDALOUS HAVING PAID SO MUCH MONEY.....I am over 6 foot 6 inches tall so I was OK but I was concerned to see peoples day ruined.
