Description

The second of the two grandstands at the back of the circuit, Grandstand 31 offers a view of the cars approaching from the back straight, passing under the bridge and then through the right/left chicane (Turns 8 and 9) before approaching the Turn 10 hairpin. This is sometimes the view of a cheeky overtaking attempt, and drivers are wary of the wall right next to the circuit on the exit of the chicane as contact there is typically race ending.

Great fans, seats, and city.

USE A BIGGER JUMBO TRON, MONITOR ON FAMILY ZONE GRANDSTAND! IN THE PICTURE of the grandstand the monitor appeared much larger than what we actually got and could hardly see on race day. That was the only compliant everything else was great.

Great experience

The race was okay, slightly boring at times and also, the gap between pre-races and the f1 drivers parade were far too long, the race was really good to watch and the atmosphere was amazing, especially with the circuit being located on an island in the river made the view outstanding when entering the circuit itself. The course, however was not well sign-posted as to get to grandstand 31 by following the F1 signs was a nightmare despite being written in both English and French. I would definitely recommend to friends and I would recommend bookf1.com too.

the stands should be covered !

the organization was great. no complaints. My only issue with the whole thing is that there is no shade in the stands. Metal stands reflect the sun. It was unbearable. and the seats were to cramped. you had your back in some ones knees and so on. and you get a few really fat people and there is no room to move. then there is a late comer and you can not get out of the way to let them in. and too many drunks, staggering around the stands trying to get more beer, or carry in more beer spilling on seated guest.

Awesome circuit and country

All aspects good, grandstand seat awesome. Only criticism was had to collect my tickets from the circuit box office and had to queue for over an hour missing fp1! ?

Fast, hot and windy weekend

Great weekend. Seats as promised. Smooth Metro transportation. Not enough drink and food stands in the Family grandstand section. Very poor audio on race day starting in the morning, continuing on to the podium ceremony. Very disappointing. It would cut in and out as if the speaker system would overheat. Constant visual on screens though.

Viewing pleasure

Overall the weekend was great. My only gripe if it can called that was that the seating in area 31 limits the race view to approximately 100 yds in total. Had it not been for the screen (which could have been bigger) the time actually watching the cars would have been miniscule.

Better off watching at home.

Initial thoughts were good, but this soon faded. We arrived for the pit lane walk and queued for nearly 1 hour to see drivers only to be told in no uncertain terms that it had finished and to "keep walking" by the security guys who had no people skills whatsoever! Only one driver (Hulkenburg) bothered to come out of his gargage to see the fans afterwards. On qualifying day, there were six guys (from New York from the sound of their accents) sitting in our seats, they obviously did not have any tickets as they continued to move to vacant seats in the hope that they were not allocated to anyone. The tv screen was far too small to see any information and the noise from the dj's behind the stand drowned out the sound of the commentary. We decided to see how long it would take to walk to where the drivers get their cups only to be told we did not have access to that area! We felt completely cheated of what should have been a great experience.

Excellent experience

Our first time at an actual race and we loved it. The seats were great, although we could see surprisingly little of the track (turns 8 and 9 only). The TV screen was perfectly placed so we could see everything there. They advertised that we could pick up the race commentary on an FM radio but this was not the case, so that was a disappointment. Security was amazing and the Montreal Metro staff were brilliant.

Formula 1 Grand Prix in Montreal 2012. Was a well organized event.

We would highly recomend the event services of "Book F1 .com." They were very professional about every aspect of getting to the race. From selecting the seats to advising you of the changes before the race, and as far as giving you easiest directions to getting to your seat at the event. We were very pleasantly surprised at how it all went very smoothly. Thanks "Book F1.com"

Very enjoyable weekend

We had a terrifice time. The only negative was, what I considered, a very poor selection of on site food variety. Being the first time to an F1 race I assumed there would be a higher quality and selection of food. Hot dogs, hambergers and pizzia was about it. I could not even get a decent coffee. This may be the standard food fare at race sites around the world, I thought the F1 people would have ensured a higher quality and variety of food. This is F1 and not NASCAR! On the whole this is a minor point (I will make a note to bring food next time). Had a great time. Well done.

wet but wonderful trip

Worried at first booking tickets with a company I knew nothing about but all went wonderfully. Make sure you read all the useful circuit advice, good directions to the stands on the book F1 website. Seats were good with a great view. Stand 31 is quick to get to and the undergroung trip was easy to the circuit. Would recommend book F1 to get tickets.

4 days of motor sport

I went for 8 days,Monday to Monday.£333 flight ticket,Heathrow to Montreal direct.Return Montreal-Ottawa -Heathrow.20 min.internal flight.Talked my way in on the Tuesday as I didn't have a pass.vendors only.Found grandstand and seat.Walked around the rest of the circuit in the sunshine.Open day on the Thursday brilliant.I met Force India mechanics on the Monday at the airport, had invite to garage.Met the Hulk ,spare driver.1-2-1 with grid girl and engineers.given full tour, held Sutils steering wheel, photos also.Getting to track easy, metro fast ,efficient, cheap, large crowd each practice, qualifying and race day but did not take long.Sunshine until sunday. When we all got soaked.Loads of people left like ants in a line, when it was red flagged.I stayed wet on the outside so had a beer and hotdog for the inside.Didn't go all that way"4,500 miles" to walk out.Beer pots were half full of water, thats how much it rained,in a short time. Exciting race when restarted, cars were sliding off on the bend /chicane,across the grass in front of the stand.T v opposite too.Terrific buzz from people who stuck it out,Button last to first and win, watched it on the tv when I got home Tuesday.I was on my own but a fantastic week, sightseeing as well.A safe place, clean not much dearer than home.

Canadian Grand Prix

This was my first ever Grand Prix and therefore had no expectations. Overall, I found it to be a brilliant experience and should I go back to this Grand Prix I would be more prepared for the weather, especially the rain! It is easy to get to as the Montreal Metro is user friendly and the maps and directions are well signposted, you do not need to speak to French to understand where to go. Only negative was that the orgainsers did not keep the spectators regualrly updated so we did not know if the race was cancelled or going ahead due to the rain. If you like fast food and beer, there are plenty of stands, and if you want Formula 1 merchandise then you have many stands to buy from. The toilets are ok (sort of) it's not as bad as Glastonbury! I would definitiely go again.

Excellent Experience in Canada!

The weather is about the only thing you can't blame on the organizers and that was the only thing which could have been better, perhaps some slightly more upmarket food options would have been nice, too. But overall a fantastic GP!

Lewis Hamiltons Barmy Army

Well done to the city and people of Montreal for going GP crazy the entire weekend, even the rain could not ruin this. I have been to 14 different grand prix and this is the best one without doubt (other than Silverstone of course) Loved it !!!! Will be back next year.

great

We had a great weekend, more information when the race was red flagged might have helped. Some kind of shelter or a boat might have been good. In the end we returned to our hotel room to get dry clothes and saw the end of a very exiting race on T.V. This did not spoil our weekend at all and we look forward to the Canadian Formula 1 Grand Prix in 2012.

decent facilities, terrible navigational organization.

Restrooms were plentiful, easy access. The only issue was getting to the actual track, people were confused about directions and a ten dollar cab fee to the track and back adds up. Overall a good experience.
