Great Experience

We love this Motogp and this is the 3rd year running that we have been there. Only criticism is that traffic can be marshalled better after the event. We had TT World Tribune seats which were excellent.

One of the best!

Usual reliable service from BookMoto - tickets arriving in good time before the weekend. Had not been to Assen before and by the time we got round to booking I did not have a great selection of tickets available; opted for the new Winterdijk and requested seats at the final chicane end. Couldn't have been further away - completely at the opposite - and very glad we were. Could see approx. half the lap from our seat - superb! Not sure there are many bad seats having tried most of the stands on the Saturday but I'd be tempted to go for this one again. Only thing is that because the stands are so long you could not be sure you were getting the view you expected. Stayed in hotel 50mins walk away; taxi in morning took us to the gate in 10 mins; walked back through the camp sites. Well organised, fantastic atmosphere in Assen in the evening. PS - clean toilets available for a very reasonable 50 cents; but obviously too much for many - the surrounding water-ways drainage was well tested!

Absolutely Amazing Best Race for years

The whole weekend was fantastic, the seats in Strubben Tribune were just right with great views of the Pit Lane Exit and 1st Corner as well as the Ossebroeken and Veenslang straight. The facilities at the track are superb , good WC Facilities , plenty of food and Drink outlets. Our 6th year of attending-felt a little more effort is needed with infill entertainment between the main races but that is quite a minor quibble. Also if you at a non smoker be prepared for smoking in the stands

This is the first time I use bookmoto.com and attend MotoGP. I'm glad I choice Holland for my first. And the bookmoto provide sufficient information. The weather in tt circuit is rainy and windy but also sunny. My seat in tt world and I like the view very much.

A bit wet but what a day

First time I have been to Assen. The parking facilities are excellent; there were plenty of food / drink outlets and (amazingly) enough toilets too). it took some time to get away from the circuit, but that was only due to the sheer number of bikes there. The actual access from the main road was pretty easy and we had no delays once we did get out. Re the racing: absolutely excellent. Would go again.

Good weekend apart from the weather!

Great weekend for our first Assen Gp. The extra info on the email was very clear and helpful too. A good circuit to go too with lots to do. Bookmoto did a great job with the booking for this!

Fantastic experience despite the weather

I bought this as a present for my other half, we arrived on the Thursday and had access to the Pit Walk as we had 3 day tickets, it was way to find and easy to park, same the following day. The parking changed for the Saturday and we had to park in a field even though we tried to get to the TT world stand, this was the same on the Sunday despite getting there just after 6. It meant you came into the circuit half way around the other side. The stand itself was a great view, I would recommend taking something to sit on because you can get a numb bum. But the track view was awesome, you saw 3 corners and had the screen directly in front of you for the rest of the track. Toilets are 50c each time, but there are plenty of free places to go if you're a guy. Walking around the track you do come across an odd portaloo that's free too. Food was predictable but I urge you to try the kibbeling (little chunks of battered fish) was delicious. Sunday unfortunately had the worst weather and despite us having an umbrella we still got drenched, but saying that the only covered stand is at the straight and I don't think I would have enjoyed it as much there. Where we were the riders slowed slightly so you got to see them and their skill. The only criticism I had was when we were trying to get out after the main MotoGP race. We walked back to the field got changed into to dry clothes and then started to leave, it took over 2 hours to get onto the road which was less than 200 yards away. It was chaos, there were no marshalls to guide traffic so it was a free for all, no one letting people out, people trying to push in, people cutting down fences to out before other people. They need to have as many people directing people out as they did getting them in. I am sure it could have been made less painful than it was. Will definitely book again and probably the same seating to be fair, thoroughly enjoyed it and the book moto team were great at customer service all the way through the booking.

Assen Motogp

Assen is always a great all round weekend although the weather spoilt it a little but that can't be helped. Our race day tickets in the TT World grandstand were beat we've ever had and worth every penny.

circuit organisation poor

very poor organisation in getting everyone in, we arrived 4 miles from the circuit at 10.20am which took a further three hours to get in missing all but the Moto GP race which was very disappointing, then we find the circuit are charging for toilet facilities after paying almost £90 for entrance per person. On leaving the site it took a further two hours to get out and back on the road.

Racing the highlight, as it should be

Although the racing was exciting due to the changeable weather the rain did subdue the atmosphere. Our experience of the Spanish GP's (and even Silverstone) is that the people and the bike culture make the experience much better than Assen. The TT Festival was too difficult to access , too busy and over crowded. The locally arranged TT night ride was worth attending. TT World was an excellent grandstand to view the race from, good position to see a good section of the circuit and a easy to see big screen. The bike parking was the best Ive seen, covered and with concrete strips for side stands The downside is getting in and out, especially out. We are used to volumes of traffic delaying you however, never poor pedestrian organisation. Getting out of the circuit on foot was a night mare and dangerous, thoughts of Hillsborough came to mind. The walkway behind the circuit and the exits became gridlocked with people trying to move in clockwise and anti clockwise directions having a face off and not getting anywhere. It took nearly 2 hours to get back to the bike park from the grandstands!!! Dangerous and should be reported for a reorganisation to the authorities After that getting out on the bike was reasonable albeit with only the A28 to get out on it was over and hour of road gridlock to just get two junctions thankfully the cars moved to the sides of both lanes to let the bikes through and we still had spectators waving us goodbye on bridges almost all the way to Utrecht Shame Rossi crashed out and Lotenzo and Marquez did a lot better after the restart than they deserved. Great to see Redding on the podium and a historic Miller win. The racing was definitely the highlight as it should be

Assen MotoGP

A fantastic weekend despite the weather , book moto tickets perfect good views of the pit lane exit and the the 1st 4 Turns . Book moto' advice and information , race schedule etc great. Assen track is brilliant loads of good viewing areas, toilets very clean and food very good if not a little bit expensive . We loved it , intend to go every year , having now been twice. The Dutch people are really friendly and helpful

Awesome race on a great track but they have have track access issues on race day

It's a great facility that's easy walking access to the whole track. Plenty of bathrooms and food/beer stands but most had a bit of a wait between races which is to be expected. My only complaint is traffic flow on race day. The bikes seemed to get through okay but the car entry was horrible. It took us 2 hours to get from the exit (which is right outside the track) to our parking spot. If you are arriving be car and want to see all three races, I would plan on getting there at least an hour before the first race.

Excellent weekend from start to finish

If travelling via the ferry service from Dover to Calais I would recommend arriving at the Docks a hour before departure time as Passport checks now take longer with significant delays in processing this was particularly noticeable at Calais for PM departures.

summary

Overall I am very pleased with the experience not only MotoGP but whole time in Netherland. I was really pleased with getting to circuit and being there although there was not much protection from the rain. One thing that could be improved is toilets especially males ones as queues were huge, so I would suggest open more toilets for man rather than females.

Review Amsterdam to Assen for MotoGP

We stayed in Amsterdam and got a train on Sat morning from Amsterdam to Assen (100 Euro's Return for two of us) To make the most of the day, you need to catch the 07.07am train, book the day before in Amsterdam Central, when we arrived as you can't book on-line as all foreign banks for on-line booking. The train is a double decker train and has air-con, but very very busy, so get there early to get a seat. Toilets but no food on board, bring food for the journey, 1 hour 45 minutes. You get a shuttle bus from Assen to Circuit (5 Euro Return) traffic so bad, much better to walk as you were not allowed off. What was 5 minutes on a bus, took nearly 1 and half hours, or bring a push bike with you on train and cycle to the racing. From a woman's point off view, the toilet facilities were excellent, paying 50cent to use a toilet is worth while as it so clean. Great selection off food and drink. It was wet on the day, so rain clothing or bike gear will do. Great crowd, good circuit, brilliant racing, my husbands Birthday was the main race day and he so enjoyed it. Trains home very bad, everyone had same problem, they went down so took 4 hours back. We flew from Southend with Easyjet (40 minute flight excellent service) had day in Amsterdam. You can fly with Flybe from Southend to Groningen, and then you could get local bus to Assen. Different people told us on train Hotels in local area to Assen very costly. If you are a couple going best do Amsterdam on Friday, day at Assen and then Amsterdam on Sunday before you get flight back. I would look into day trip and see how it would work also.
