Sainte Baume grandstands sit at the top of a privileged point, at the confluence of three turns: Virage de l'Hotel, Virage du Camp and Virage de la Sainte Baume.

The last three sections of this grandstand will be dedicated to the Bronze category. These will overlook the three turns, with possible panoramic views of the straight leading up to Virage de l'Hotel, where cars are expected to reach high speeds of 300km/h. Once the cars take the close-knit succession of turns, they will tackle the emblematic Mistral straight.

Great racing, very poor facilities

Wow, what an experience. We made the best of this exciting event by travelling from the South of England to the South of France in an old motor home, an 11 day trip. We arrived at the campsite and found a beautiful spot. The facilities proved to be totally inadequate! The ratio of male to female was roughly 3-1 but the organisers had provided only 4 toilets on the male side and queues and tempers grew. No standpipe for fresh water so instead you had to remove the shower head and fill containers from that. No facilities for emptying toilet cassettes so these were being emptied in toilets and washed out in showers, disgusting!!! There were thousands of campers who were already annoyed because of the absolute farce of having their bookings cancelled at the last minute and the need to rebook which proved extremely difficult. A bit of a con, the original company had our money for 6 months and lots of other people's money too. Then there was the walk to the track, a good 25 minutes over very rough terrain. Inside the track more rough terrain and having to contend with vehicles moving around all day long kicking up dust wherever they went and only tiny pockets of shade. We will never book again unless we are assured facilities are appropriate.

Mixed review

Been using bookf1 for a few years now and never had any complaints. Tickets are delivered recorded and always on time. Any correspondence is replied by return. Unfotunately with the French grand prix there are things the organisers will need to change for us to return in the future. Firstly just want to say the circuit and race itself was fantastic. The toilet facilities were clean and constantly maintained. I thought they could have had more refreshment and merchandise stalls. Main problem was supporters getting to and from the circuit were really poor. We stayed in Six-Fours de Plagues only 30 minute drive. The route to the circuit goes through small villages and up a winding mountain. Bookf1 sent an email informing us of the terrible trouble they had with traffic on the Friday practice. It took us 3 hours to get home on qualifying day so we made a decision on race day to get there when gates opened and leave late as possible which turned out to be not as bad. I heard it took people 3 hours just to get out of the so called car parks. We paid for parking which was a disgrace. It was fields where trees had been chopped down and bark left on the ground. They didn't even check people had paid tickets. We didnt have designated parking areas so was a free for all. We ended up parking the opposite end of the circuit. Disgusting to charge every car 45 euros. We had grandstand number 5 at Sainte Baume. These had a great view. So a mixed review.

The French Grand Prix at Paul Ricard

The experience was great with good backup from BookF1 We expected delays due to traffic but there was no help at all finding parking on the pit inspection day and the gate into the Saint Baume area did not open that day which meant we were very late getting to the pits We eventually worked out the parking arrangements and it sorted itself out in the following days We would have appreciated the chance to buy waterproof ticket holders I seem to struggle getting a email attachment to replace my soggy ticket We had good seat at Saint Baume and enjoyed the racing

French F1 race good - car park crazy!

Whilst the racing and track side stuff was really good - getting to and from the event was absolutely crazy. Almost 4 hours on both occasions which could have been prevented had the roads around the circuit been more controlled. I realise that the circuit is in a beautiful location, but even so with a little more traffic control they could have made entrances and exits better, Car parking was also chaotic with wooded areas unsigned and people walking aimlessly trying to find their cars after the event, and then either blocked in by others or stuck in queues trying to get out. I am only thankful that there were no incidents as a result of the frustration of trying to leave the circuit.

F1 French GP

Very difficult to get to circuit. Runway restricts access around track. The single bridge swaying when fans crossing. Double to single bridge severely restricts access and flow. High banks around circuit stops you looking at cars that is the whole point why we were there!

Traffic and car park misery

Travelling from Australia for the triple header and my husband’s 60th, we were really looking forward to the French GP. On the Thursday pit walk commencing at 4pm we were advised to arrive early to allow for crowds. On arriving the staff, police nor security had any idea where to send anyone as the signage was not ready and the car parks didn’t open until 3pm. Cars were sat in queues without any direction. We left Toulon where we were staying on Friday at 9am for a 12pm P1 start. 3 hours should be sufficient for a journey that normally takes 40mins. But no again the local authorities and police lost all control of the roads and we arrived 4.30 hours later completely missing P1. Our return to the hotel was no better taking 2.30hours to get home. On Saturday, travel to the track was reasonable as we left the hotel at 7am although P3 wasn’t until 1pm. Having to sit around at the track for 5 hours because local authorities cannot organise the traffic is ridiculous. Again our return to the hotel took 2.30 hours, having to take detours to avoid sitting in traffic queues. Again on Race day we arrived at the track early, 10.00am for a 4.00pm race to make sure we got there. After the race we arrived at our car at 6pm to find queues of stationary cars.. We did not start to leave the car park until 11.10pm as the traffic was gridlocked. Not at any time did anyone have the courtesy to let us know what the delays were. When I complained about the traffic situation on Friday I was told I should allow enough time. I think it is pretty clear I allowed plenty of time. I would not recommend attending this race unless you are camping and don’t need to leave the area until the day after the race. Anyone travelling by car, give this venue a very wide berth. We have not been offered any apologies or compensation. Liberty Media have taken the money and couldn’t give a damn about the fans. Thanks but no thanks Bernie Eccleston for getting this signed up for 10 years!! Many F1 fans we spoke to will not be returning to this venue.

Badly organised, worse Grand Prix event I have ever atttended!

As an avid and follower of F1 this hugely anticipated event was a massive disappointment. The organisers of this event should refund every patron the cost of their entry ticket. We spent most of our weekend stuck in non- moving traffic jams for hours trying to gain access to our PRE PAID CAR PARK. I use the word Car Park loosley. The Car Parking areas were a disgrace, they were rough terrain, with boulders, bricks and tree roots to negotiate. On race day we travelled extra early to ensure we arrived to see the whole days event, we acheived this. However, after the race, we sat in a queue of NON-moving traffic for 5 hours, from 6.00pm to 11.00pm just to exit the circuit, then further delays on surrounding roads eventually getting home around 1.00 am. I will not be returning and urge anyone to carefully consider attending this event.

DONT EVER GO TO FRENCH FORMULA 1

Took my wife to F1 for the first time and could not have regretted the decision more. Friday morning sat in traffic for 4 hours, Sat/Sun morning woke at 5 am to beat traffic and only sat in traffic for 45 minutes. Sunday leaving took almost 7 hours from finish of race to get back to hotel. Parking layout was horrid. Parking was in a semi-forest with brambles, broken trees, and dangerous to walk on. There was poor shading to get out of the heat or rain. There was only GP3, F2, F1 - no other racing ... what about Honda cup, Ferrari challenge, Porsche cup ... something ! Even a motorcycle race. Sat for hour at time with nothing happening on the track. Food venue options were limited. All promotional items were only by F1 Store, there were no individual vendor shops. Commentating was horrible. They did not even mic the apparently nice Brazilian drum band. No transmission of the commenting on an FM station to listen on headphones. And then the cherry on top: Marseilles air traffic control decides to strike on the weekend of F1 without the local government, the French government or the EU Commission preventing them doing that on one of the busiest weekends in the region. Needless to say our flight was CANCELLED and could not leave till 2 days later. NEVER GOING BACK TO FRENCH FORMULA 1 EVER AGAIN or even Marseille/Provence region. Thanks for a horrible weekend !

Race great but traffic organisation killed it

The circuit racing and entertainment was very good however a total lack of any traffic management mea t it was complete chaos especially after the race on Sunday. Sort this out or take it way, fans don't deserve that

A Great day at the race

Great day at the race spoiled by the following, 1, only one company operate buses to circuit from Marseille at an exhorbitant E66 for the round trip which takes just over an hour. That’s over E3000 per busload. 2 The traffic arrangements leaving the circuit are the worst I have seen in all my F1 GP travels. I will not go again as the journey home was soooo painful. 3 hours back to Marseilles, the first two hours we travelled about 5K.
