GETTING TO THE CIRCUIT
BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT
The Hungaroring is located around 20km away from the Hungarian capital of Budapest.
Public transport between the city and the track could be better, but it is relatively economical.
Train
The train does not leave from the city centre so you need to take the red line of the metro (M2) to Örs vezér tere. You need to then leave the metro station and walk a few minutes to the train station.
Taking a train going in the direction of Gödöllő, Kerepes or Mogyoród, get the train to Kerepes. A free shuttle bus connects the station to Gate 3 of the Hungaroring.
Tickets can be bought on the MÁV app or BKK ticket machines in Budapest.
Taxi
A popular option at the Hungarian Grand Prix is taking a taxi. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes, and costs around €40.
Bolt is the official taxi service of the event and their cars have fast track access to the circuit, avoiding the worst of the traffic.
There is a taxi rank at the circuit for the return journey, but expect very long queues once the race is over.
BY CAR
Driving to the circuit is also an option. Parking is free for Grand Prix ticket holders, unless you want to splash out for the Super Gold parking to guarantee a spot, and easy access to the circuit.
Remember to buy a vignette (highway sticker) before driving on the motorway. These can be purchased at service stations.
