The Circuit of the Americas is a purpose built, 5.513km track with drastic elevation changes and high speed corners. It is the tenth American track to feature on the Formula 1 calendar but is currently the only track in the United States being used on the Formula 1 circuit.
The track runs anti-clockwise and has a total of 20 turns, 9 right-turns and 11 left-turns. The start is famed for the steep, 41 metre incline into turn one, which always ensures an eventful start to the race. The circuit, which has taken inspiration from various other tracks such as Silverstone, Hockenheimring and Istanbul Park, has a top speed of 195mph.
First brought onto the F1 calendar in 2012, the Circuit of the Americas is fast becoming one of the season favourites due to eventful racing and unpredictable weather. Lewis Hamilton currently holds the record for fastest lap and most wins at this circuit, with an impressive six wins at the Texan circuit! Will he make it a seventh in 2019?
