The modern circuit, which opened in 2000, is at odds with its peaceful countryside surroundings but has provided some of DTM’s best moments in recent seasons. In 2021, Maximilian Götz celebrated victory in the second race on his way to the DTM title. In 2022, he'll be hoping to recreate that success in front of the huge grandstand filled with racing fans. It’s reasons like this that the track attracts huge numbers of fans not just from Germany, but nearby Czechia and Poland too. And there’ll be plenty of action for fans to witness, as the BMW M2 Cup series gets its season underway to Lausitzring, alongside the junior series DTM Trophy, the DTM Classic Touring Car Legends and DTM Electric Power Run.
