GT endurance comes to Germany's legendary Green Hell; one of the world's most formidable circuits. The spectacular Nurburgring hosts its demanding 24-hour endurance race every year in the picturesque Eifel region.
Labelled the “Green Hell” by Formula 1 legend Sir Jackie Stewart, the endurance race is run on a combination of the 5.1km Grand Prix circuit and the huge 20.8km Nordschleife. Renowned as one of the planet's toughest tracks, the circuit features 170 corners including the fabulous Karussell, a 210-degree banked corner. Across the course of a lap, which will take around 8 minutes and 20 seconds in qualifying trim, the cars climb 1,000ft of elevation.
Around 200 cars will take to the track over the course of the weekend, which will range from BMWs and Porsches to privateers in Volkswagen Golfs.
While the track is usually open to the public to drive on, the 24-hour race gives racing enthusiasts the opportunity to wander and explore the sprawling circuit on foot over the course of an action-packed few days. But for those who might prefer a more comfortable viewing experience, the many grandstands across the Grand Prix circuit will be open to provide exhilarating views of the race.
Throughout the weekend, it’s not just the main event that will take to the track. Classic and historic races will occur to keep the crowds entertained in addition to single marque series and the Drift Challenge.
