FORMULA 1® QATAR AIRWAYS AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX 2027

Experience the magic of the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne, which returns to its traditional place as Round 1 of the Formula 1® season.

A driver favourite, the Australian leg of the Formula 1® championship never disappoints. George Russell got his season off to a flyer in 2026 with teammate Kimi Antonelli just behind in an impressive Mercedes 1-2. Oscar Piastri dramatically crashed his McLaren on the way to the grid at his home race, but can he make amends in 2027?

WHY BUY TICKETS TO THE FORMULA 1® AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX

The Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne is one of the most popular races of the year for both fans and drivers. Once again, Albert Park will play host to the season opener in 2025, and tickets are likely fly off the shelves even quicker than usual. Charles Leclerc roared to his first ever win when F1® returned Down Under in 2022, while in 2023, Verstappen won in front of a record crowd of 444,631. Ferrari's Carlos Sainz became the third race winner in as many years in 2024, with British drivers Lando Norris and George Russell then enjoying success in 2025 and 2026 respectively.

The poster boy for Australian Formula 1® is Oscar Piastri. He has struggled in the previous two years at his home race, but that won't stop the adoring home crowd from dreaming of seeing an Aussie Grand Prix winner.

It won’t just be Formula 1® in action, as some of Australia’s most exciting race series take to the track from Thursday all the way up to race day Sunday. VHT Australian S5000 Championship, Supercars, Porsche Carrera Cup Australia and a number of Historics will hitting the tarmac, as will the RAAF with an incredible air display in the air.

Melbourne is more than just a Grand Prix host city. There are few places to rival it when it comes to beaches, surfing and wildlife tourism. March in Melbourne averages around 25 degrees, offering the perfect chance for a bit of pre-summer sun for visitors from the Northern Hemisphere.
