First held at the Shanghai International Circuit in 2004, the Chinese Grand Prix brought the sport of Formula 1 in front of an enormous market.
Chinese fans have enjoyed motorsport for decades with the Macau Grand Prix one of racing’s key events. The Shanghai International Circuit includes some of the most demanding corners on the calendar, including turns 1 and 2: an almost complete loop that demands complete concentration from the drivers. Lewis Hamilton has dominated at this track, taking victory at six Grands Prix since 2008. Between the Formula 1 action, the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia will take to the track.
Shanghai is the most populous city in world, as a global hub of technology, finance and research. It mixes modern skyscrapers with traditional Chinese history.
