Singapore goes under the lights for the original night race

Situated on the driver’s left, enjoy impressive views of cars racing past iconic landmarks at speeds of up to 275km/h as they steam full-throttle towards Turn 10. You will be close to the Padang Stage featuring international headlining artistes and the bustling F1® Village filled with roving entertainment, activity stations and gastronomic options from the popular Dockside and Portside Hawkers.

Located on the drivers’ right of Turn 5, the Republic Grandstand offers an amazing view of the cars going full throttle past the kink at Turn 4, then threading the barriers at Turn 5, before entering the first of three DRS activation zones. Accessing this brand new grandstand is a breeze, with the nearest subway station (Promenade) and Gate 2 within a ten-minute walk away. In 2022, Williams’ Nicholas Latifi and Alfa Romeo’s Zhou Guanyu collided and hit the wall just before the entry to Turn 5, leading to Zhou's retirement just seven laps into the race. Earlier in the weekend, Lance Stroll also fell victim to this corner, as his Aston Martin made contact with the barrier on the exit of Turn 5 during the first practice session. Patrons enjoy complimentary rides on the Singapore Flyer on a first-come-first-served basis (subject to availability). Patrons have access to zones 1, 2, 3 and 4 as well as the performance stages throughout the Circuit Park, including the Zone 4 Padang Stage and Zone 1 Wharf Stage.

Pitch perfect for fanatic fans. Seated opposite the team garages and with a full panoramic view of the pit straight — Pit Grandstand ticket holders are in an excellent position to witness the high-octane race action, the starting grid and finish line. This is the best spot to catch the start and end game and a fiery display of fireworks once the chequered flag is waved.

In 2016, Nico Hulkenberg’s Force India spun around upon contact with Toro Rosso’s Carlos Sainz and crashed into the pit wall only seconds after the start of the race.

Why go to the 2024 Singapore Grand Prix?

Most people will agree that the 2023 Singapore Grand Prix was by far the most exciting race of the season - so far! The rampant Red Bulls finally slipped up and Carlos Sainz, Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton made the podium after a race full of twists, turns and drama! Singapore is just different.

Racing took to the streets in Singapore Grand Prix back in 2008, for the sport’s first-ever night race. Within a few years, this race around the streets of Marina Bay in downtown Singapore quickly gained a reputation as one of the toughest races the sport has ever seen.

For the best part of two hours, the drivers push around the challenging, tight 5km circuit. This is the race the drivers train for all season, with temperatures in the cockpit reaching up to 60°C. It requires all the focus and skill they can muster, as proved by the fact every edition of the race has seen at least one safety car deployment.

Between them, Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton dominate Singapore, having won every race since 2011 bar one. This is a race that showcases the very best the sport has to offer, with Fernando Alonso and Nico Rosberg the only two other drivers to win, meaning only these four World Champions share the glories. Between Formula 1 sessions, drivers from the Ferrari Challenge and Porsche Carrera Cup Asia will be out to impress.

The spectacular action goes far beyond and off circuit at the Grand Prix Season Singapore (GPSS) with ten days of fun-filled experiences such as outdoor performances, music performances and special race-themed events and promotions across the city. With these exciting experiences in store, plan your trip today and we look forward to welcoming you to Singapore soon.

Besides showcasing the cars looking their best, illuminated by 1,600 floodlights, Singapore offers some of the best entertainment around. Red Hot Chilli Peppers, The Killers, Liam Gallagher, Muse and Ariana Grande are just some of the acts to have performed in recent years. Announcements regarding 2024 entertainment line-ups are expected in the coming months.
