Spain - Aragon
Spain hosts four races across the MotoGP season, with the race in Aragon one of the most anticipated of the year. Having hosted street races since 1963, the town of Alcañiz built the impressive MotorLand Aragon circuit. Designed to the test the riders with an intense onslaught of fast and slow turns before two long straights, this is a race that separates champions and racers.
That’s proven by the fact Spaniard Marc Marquez is the most successful rider at Aragon, with five premier-class wins to his name. Compatriots Pol Espargaro and Alex Rins also have victories at a race that has been won by a Spaniard every year of the last nine, much to the delight of the home crowd. There has also been Spanish success in the Moto2 and Moto3 races, which run alongside the event.
The town of Alcañiz itself – located in rural norther Spain – is a blissful place to race. With a strong rural culture, there’s beautiful landscapes to explore and exemplary local culinary delights to discover.
