Some say the Red Bull Ring isn’t designed for motorcycle racing, but Austrian MotoGP returned in 2016, it has delivered drama and action in equal measures. The undulating circuit is characterised by long straights, tight turns and two huge overtaking opportunities in the final two bends. That was perfectly illustrated in 2020, when Pol Espargaró, Jack Miller and Miguel Oliveira swapped the lead right up until the last, with Oliveira third with two turns to go, but arriving at the chequered flag first. It put on a great show for the fans in Austria, many of which take a road trip through the picturesque Styrian hills for a weekend of camping at the circuit. Once there, they are rewarded with unrivalled circuit views, a relaxed atmosphere full of laid-back racing fans, and an epic race weekend. Moto2, Moto3 and the electric MotoE World Cup will also be taking to the track, ensuring there’s more racing action for the fans to revel in.
