WHY GO TO THE MOTOGP JAPAN?

The home of Yamaha and Honda – two major players in the motorcycle engine game – MotoGP hosts a homecoming of sorts for these teams enshrined in the history of motorsport. A Japanese bike has carried riders to World Championships for 46 of the last 49 seasons. They have enjoyed very successful home races at Motegi over the decades.

The Twin Ring Motegi is a unique one on the MotoGP calendar, posing a series of stop-start hairpins for the riders to navigate. That makes it a technical course characterised by dramatic changes in speed, but offering plenty of overtaking opportunities. It will pose a challenge to the up-and-coming riders of Moto2 and Moto3 too, with both support series in action throughout the weekend.

Any trip to Japan is a memorable one, but that’s especially true of this unique part of the world. A beautiful, rural part of the country contrasts the vast metropolis of nearby Tokyo, which is just two-and-a-half hours away by the efficient rail network. Fans can sample the bright lights of the capital, while experiencing authentic, serene Japanese beauty.
