Steeped in motorsport history, the 24 Hours of Le Mans is one of the most prestigious races in the world.
Dating back to the 1920s, the greatest drivers in the world test themselves through a whole day of racing at the inimitable Circuit de la Sarthe in France.
Fernando Alonso, Jacky Ickx, Graham Hill and Bruce McLaren are among some of the star drivers to have taken victory at the race. Having taken place on the local roads in its infancy, a custom-built complex has since been built, with the endurance layout encompassing some of those public streets.
But it’s so much more than just a race. Despite an entire 24 hours of racing, and practice sessions throughout the week, there’s so much more to entertain fans at Le Mans. Before the race, the town of Le Mans hosts parades where you can get up close to your favourite drivers and some historic machines. At the track, traditional concerts and funfairs create an unbeatable atmosphere throughout the racing action.
