Why go to the 2025 Australian F1 Grand Prix
The motorsport pedigree in this country is second to none. Daniel Ricciardo has flown the flag for Australia since his Formula 1 debut at the British Grand Prix in 2011. The Honey Badger’s future is in doubt for the coming season as it was announced in September that Ricciardo would be replaced by Liam Lawson at RB with immediate effect.
In the meantime, McLaren’s Oscar Piastri has burst onto the F1 scene, winning two races so far in the 2024 season. Round 1 in March may give the home crowd a genuine opportunity of seeing an Aussie winner at Albert Park.
Australia’s history of hosting Grand Prix stretches back almost 100 years. Only two historical events have disrupted editions of the Australian Grand Prix since its conception in 1928; the Second World War (1940-46) and the Covid pandemic (2020 and 2021).
In 2024, it was an historic Ferrari one-two as Carlos Sainz became the seventh driver in eight editions to win the Australian Grand Prix.

Part of the attraction of Formula 1 races are the spectacular locations in which they take place. The beautiful city of Melbourne draws almost 40 million visitors per year. Ideally situated on the southern coast of Australia, it offers good weather, beaches and one of the highest standards of living in the world.
The 2025 Australian Grand Prix will be held in mid-March, a very pleasant month to visit southern Australia. Temperatures average around 25 degrees, a good 10-15 degrees higher than the UK for that time of year.
The Melbourne coast is also a surfer’s paradise, as well as being a hub for wildlife tourism. Whale watching tours are a huge draw for tourists with sightings of humpback whales and orcas very common in the month of March.
