Why go to the 2024 Belgian Grand Prix?

The Belgian Grand Prix is one of the most eagerly awaited races in the Formula 1 season. This is partly down to the iconic nature of the spectacular and undulating track, the Spa-Francorchamps. The famous circuit – which has held F1 Grand Prix since 1950 – draws fans back year after year.

Deep in the Ardennes Forest, this 7km track enjoys a spectacular backdrop of breathtaking Belgian countryside. The tree covered hills ring with the roar of Formula 1 engines once a year, as hundreds of thousands of spectators pour into Belgium. The promise of a festival experience draws in the crowds to what is so much more than just a race.

Many opt to camp in the stunning rural setting for the weekend. The circuit has a campsite for everyone. Whether you’re after being as close to the track as possible, quieter family areas, or the Young Village campsite (for 17–27 year olds), there’s something to suit your needs.

Maybe you don’t fancy camping – fear not. The nearby towns of Spa and Malmedy come alive with a buzzing, international atmosphere during the race weekend. There are plenty of hotels and B&Bs, but remember to book early to avoid disappointment.

Spa-Francorchamps: home of the Belgian Grand Prix

The track itself offers some of the most unique and famous corners in the world. Drama is always on the menu at Spa, demonstrated by the fact that the Belgian Grand Prix has become prone to selling out.

Eau Rouge and Raidillon at turns 3 and 4 offer a tricky left-right flick and sweep. The turn 1 hairpin at La Source has indeed been the source of nail biting drama in the past. Witnessing the cars tear through the Pouhon corner at top speed is not for the faint hearted.

This wave-like nature of the tarmac at Spa-Francorchamps also provides visitors with some unrivalled viewing points dotted throughout the track. In recent years, a new grandstand has been added at the top of Raidillon. This opened up whole new vantage positions for thousands of racegoers. General admission areas are also located throughout the circuit, including alongside the back Kemmel straight.

Demand for tickets is expected to be as high as ever. Be sure to book 2024 Belgian Formula 1 Grand Prix tickets now, as well as camping or accommodation, to avoid disappointment. Camping options will be released in the coming months. You can select how many pitches you require when buying the tickets, and we’ll let you know the moment camping goes on sale.
