Why go to the 2025 Canadian Grand Prix?
With plenty of potential for overtakes, close shaves and drama, Canadian Grand Prix tickets are hard to come by by the time June rolls around. The infamous Wall of Champions, a notoriously treacherous section of the Gilles Villeneuve circuit, is a driver’s nightmare but a spectator favourite.
In 1999, the wall famously caused World Champions Damon Hill, Michael Schumacher and Jacques Villeneuve all to crash. In 2011, the Wall of Champions was the source of no less than four crashes in a single opening practice session. It has since been updated for safety reasons but continues to cause havoc, especially among the faster drivers.
Canada is well known for its natural beauty and wildlife, and the local fauna sometimes spills over onto the track. Don’t be surprised if the Canadian Grand Prix features a guest appearance from Gary the Groundhog.
Footage went viral of the little mammal dodging speeding Formula 1 cars at the 2023 Canadian Grand Prix. Red Bull will be hoping to see another Groundhog Day as Max Verstappen’s looks to make it four wins in four years in Montreal.

June is the perfect time to visit Montreal, as the city comes alive with festivals, outdoor activities and vibrant street life. Why not stick around after the Grand Prix for the Montreal International Jazz Festival? One of the largest celebrations of jazz in the world, this event features hundreds of concerts, many of which are free, with performances by renowned artists and up-and-coming musicians.
Few countries do the great outdoors better than Canada! Enjoy a hike or a leisurely walk up Mount Royal – after which the city is named – for some stunning vistas. In June, the park is at its most vibrant green, perfect for picnics, cycling and paddle boating on Beaver Lake.
Alternatively you can get lost in the winding streets of the historic district of Old Montreal. Its charming cobblestone streets, stunning architecture, and landmarks like the Notre-Dame Basilica remind visitors of this modern city’s past.
Canada may not be the first place that springs to mind when you imagine al fresco dining. However, the patio and terrace culture comes alive in Montreal’s warm summer months. Enjoy a meal or drinks in areas like the Plateau Mont-Royal, Little Italy, and the Old Port.
