As each Formula 1 team reveals its new livery for the 2021 season, this page will be updated with the latest photos and videos.

The time between the final race of the season and pre-season testing is a quiet one for Formula 1 fans. As teams gear up to power up their new machines, there’s not much more than social media teasers to get excited about. That is, of course, until the teams launch their new-look livery for the season.

We know the paint job has zilch effect on a car’s performance, but it’s difficult not to admire a fresh livery. This is how the great cars of the past are remembered, and the lasting memories that will be etched in your mind – good or bad…

Most teams were expecting to launch new cars to adhere to new regulations in 2021. As that was delayed to 2022, we can expect many major changes might be put on hold. But there’s still plenty to chew over for the coming season.

Check out all the teams to have launched their new livery so far, and check back as we update this list before pre-season testing. And to see the 2021 Formula 1 cars in action, check out the races you can book tickets for right now.

Formula 1 2021 team livery reveals

McLaren

McLaren will have a new face behind the wheel in 2021, with Daniel Ricciardo in for the Ferrari-bound Carlos Sainz. As expected, the Woking team have opted to remain with their striking Papaya livery. Not much has changed from the 2020 version, but for a splash of blue on the nosecone. Pundits are more excited about the elements the team has been keeping under wraps for the track, than the team colours this year.

AlphaTauri

When it was announced Torro Rosso was to become AlphaTauri, it meant F1 fans would lose one of the modern classic looks. However, launched to push the Red Bull-owned fashion brand, it offered an opportunity to step out of the shadow of its sister team. And as the product of a fashion label, we can expect a new look each season. AlphaTauri delivered, with a smart livery for 2021. A refined take on their debut car, the new machine is predominantly blue, as opposed to last year’s white. It also introduces a sleek pinstripe, which is a subtle touch.

Alfa Romeo

Sauber have also swapped their colours for the new year. The red engine covers are now white, retaining the large Alfa Romeo emblem of last year. The car was launched at a lavish event in Warsaw, Poland, with the team’s reserve driver Robert Kubica a focal point. With new sponsor ORLEN taking a prominent space on the car, we think it’s no surprise the car more closely resembles the Polish flag…

Red Bull Racing

Red Bull are sticking with their tried-and-tested livery, the same they’ve run since 2016. And that was arguably pretty similar to their very first machine. The key piece here is the prominent Honda logo on the rear-wing and nose cone, replacing Aston Martin and in the engine manufacturer’s final season in the sport.

Mercedes

The reigning world champions went bold in 2020, swapping their traditional silver for an all-black look. A bit show of support for the Black Lives Matter movement, the look was a hit, and is etched into history as the car that Sir Lewis Hamilton drove in a record-setting season. In ’21, the Silver Arrows are going back to black. A refined look for the new year includes added Petronas blue flourishes, and a hint of silver returning to the fin. Oh, and a whole lot of AMG branding.

Alpine

Renault has undergone a massive rebrand for 2021. As part of a structural shuffle at the French outfit, the team will race under the Alpine name. With a long history in racing, this is the first time we’ve seen the Alpine outfit in Formula 1. The striking tricolour red, white and blue is designed to reflect the team’s French roots, and British base at Enstone.

Aston Martin

Possibly the most anticipated car launch of the lot, Aston Martin has arrived in F1 again. And they went big to launch their new car. With appearances from Super Bowl MVP Tom Brady, James Bond himself Daniel Craig, and a striking new car. The traditional British racing green makes a return, however, there was speculation over the accents that might appear on the car. While AMR’s sportscars feature a lighter green, the continuation of a partnership with BWT sees pink swooshes on the wing and along the car. Who knew the watermelon look would work so well…

Haas

Ah, yes, the American F1 team going for the traditional red, white, and blue. Well, not quite… The new colour scheme on the Haas is to in fact reflect the team’s new Uralkali sponsor – a company run by the father of the team’s new driver Nikita Mazepin. There is speculation around the fact Mazepin won’t actually be able to race under the Russian flag in 2021, and so this is a way to circumvent the rules. But one thing is for sure: none of that will bother Mick Schumacher, who will make his Formula 1 debut in this car.

Williams

Williams launched its first car under new management, and it’s something totally different. For the past few years, blue has accented a majority white car. This year, it’s all blue, with horizontal lines forming the Williams logo in negative space, and a few flicks of yellow throwing back to the past. I
