Hitting up a unique circuit around Miami Dolphins’ Hard Rock Stadium, Formula 1 is set to visit the United States twice in 2022.
The United States Grand Prix is traditionally held at Circuit of the Americas towards the end of the year. In 2021,it’s being held in October, before the sport moves south through the Americas to Mexico and then Brazil.
Miami is set to be held in early summer, with the first race set to take place on 8th May 2022. This will put the race closer to where we expect to see the Canadian Grand Prix.
Two Formula 1 practice sessions will take place on Friday, 6th May, before free practice three on the morning of Saturday, 7th May. The all-important qualifying session will then take place later that afternoon.
On Sunday, 8th May, the inaugural Miami Grand Prix will take place. Timings of sessions are yet to be confirmed, as are the racing series that will support Formula 1 over the weekend.
The timing of the event means the race will avoid other major sporting events in the city, taking place in the NFL Off-Season, and after the Miami Open which holds its finals at the stadium.
Formula 1 is expected to return to Europe following the Miami Grand Prix for races in Spain and Monaco.
Tickets for the first Miami Grand Prix are expected to go on sale in late October 2021. To find out more, sign up to the Motorsport Tickets mailing list by clicking here.
