The streets of Monte Carlo are calling - book your place at the most glamorous and unique race of the Formula 1 championship

One of the oldest races on the Formula 1 scene, the Monaco F1 Grand Prix traces its roots all the way back to 1929.

Requiring the highest levels of concentration and driver skill, the Circuit de Monaco all but guarantees drama. Both loved and hated by the drivers, the street circuit that takes over Monte Carlo one weekend per year is truly one of a kind.

Why go to the 2024 Monaco F1 Grand Prix?

Monaco is special. It is the only Formula 1 race that doesn’t adhere to the FIA’s 305 km (190 mile) minimum race distance. The average speed may be lower than other races but the levels of drama are heightened.

On this street circuit, risk very much equates to reward. Man and machine are pushed to the limit on a track which, as the cars have become bigger, heavier and more powerful, has remained unchanged and hair-raisingly narrow for decades.

In 2023, BWT Alpine’s Estaban Ocon earned his first podium since winning the Hungarian Grand Prix back in 2021. The Frenchman finished behind Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso and, predictably, Max Verstappen of Red Bull.

This season’s race showed that Monaco is a track that guarantees surprises on the podium. Maybe 2024 will be the year that local Monaco boy Charles Leclerc will finally win his home race…

Visit Monaco

Monaco is a bucket list destination whether you are a Formula 1 fan or not. The draw of the glitz and glamour means that celebrity spotting isn’t reserved for F1 weekend in this part of the world.

Taking a stroll down the harbour to see the armada of private yachts is a day out in itself. The beautiful Mediterranean coast reliably provides good weather, exquisite cuisine and spectacular scenery. Influences from neighbouring Italy and France are obvious not only in the food but the languages spoken in Monaco too. But don’t worry – most people will speak perfect English.
