Why go to the 2026 Austria Grand Prix?

The Red Bull Ring is the perfect place to experience a Grand Prix classic in the height of the European summer. With jaw-dropping mountain views, an electric atmosphere, and some of the most passionate fans in motorsport, it’s easy to see why Austria remains a firm favourite on the Formula 1 calendar.

The circuit is a favourite of world champion Max Verstappen, who’s racked up a number of podiums here and is cheered on every year by a sea of orange-clad Dutch fans. But the 2025 edition had an unfortunate twist on the first lap for the Dutchman. Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli had a lock up on Turn 3 and ploughed into Verstappen’s Red Bull, resulting in the two drivers suffering DNFs.

Another McLaren 1-2, and a podium for Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, shows how quickly things can change from one year to the next in Formula 1…

The Red Bull Ring offers incredible panoramic views against one of the most beautiful backdrops on the F1 calendar. Fans are never short of something to stare at!

The circuit is one of the only tracks in the world where all three sectors of the racetrack are visible from some of the seats. The huge elevation offers fans across the circuit unparalleled views of the entire race – not just the corner in front of their stand.

The rural setting has also bred an iconic culture for camping at the Red Bull Ring. Thousands of racing fans camp every year, which inevitably leads to huge parties and a real festival vibe. Whether you’re looking to party all night or simply chill and enjoy the race, the five campsites within walking distance of the circuit offer all racegoers a once in a lifetime experience in the dramatic Austrian mountains.
