Mexico City International Airport is the biggest airport in the country, and one that will be busy with teams, drivers and fans on race weekend. The airport is just an hour from the circuit by foot, ideal for anyone visiting just for the race.

Direct flights are available from London Heathrow with Aeromexico. Non-stop, an outward flight will take just under 12 hours. On the return to London, the flight time is around 1o and a half hours. Direct flights will cost around £540 per person around Grand Prix weekend, but may work out cheaper if you fly out earlier, or return later.

From Europe, flights direct are available from Madrid, Barcelona, Frankfurt, Munich, Amsterdam, Paris, Zurich and Istanbul, From other countries in Europe, you’ll likely need to start your journey from one of these airports to fly direct.

How to fly to Mexico City from European airports

From the US, flights are available from 27 major airports, including Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Miami. A direct flight from New York will take around five hours, and from Houston, it’s just over two hours. Volaris, Aeromexico, American Airlines and Delta are the most popular airlines across US-Mexico routes.

Getting to the circuit in Mexico City

When you land at the airport, if you need to head straight to the circuit, you’re in luck. The track is a mere 5km walk from the airport terminal, making it walkable in less than an hour.

However, we know you’re not likely to get straight into the action.

Luckily, Mexico City is very well connected. It has an extensive subway metro service, with the stations Ciudad Deportiva and Puebla on Line 9 close to the circuit. You can also take a bus 200 operated by RTP runs along the Circuito Interior route, which stops at Eje 3 Sur Añil – 450m from the entrance of the track.
