2026 NOW ON SALE!
First held in 1928, Rally Italy can comfortably claim to be a truly classic event
WHY GO?
First it was known as the “Rally Sanremo” and in 2014 it became the “Rally di Sardegna”. Today, Rally Italia Sardegna is on twisty, narrow, sandy and bumpy roads.
The stages in Sardinia are characterised by their challenging and varied nature. Although they are predominantly fast and narrow, the terrain is a mixture of flat open areas and undulating tracks through woodland with water splashes and spectacular jumps thrown in for good measure.
The hard base roads are covered by a sandy surface which is swept away during the first pass to leave rougher and rutted conditions for the second run. These abrasive road conditions are bound to be a challenging test for both the tires and the teams, along with the high temperatures (up to 30°C!) which will generate a high stress and discomfort to the engines.
And in 1981, Michèle Mouton became the first woman to win a WRC round, and until today, remains as the only woman ever to win.
