WHY GO TO THE F1 AUSTRIAN GRAND PRIX?
The Red Bull Ring is a favourite circuit of world champion Max Verstappen, as his dedicated Dutch Oranje Army take over the stands for the weekend. The Dutchman has been on the podium seven times at this circuit, but was forced off the winner’s step in 2022 when Charles Leclerc overtook him three times on the way to victory.
That’s just one example of the action in the Austrian mountains. Verstappen and Leclerc went hammer and tong for the win in 2019, while Lewis Hamilton and Alex Albon tangled in a dramatic clash in 2020. 2022's edition also saw an incredible five-car battle for sixth place, with cars heading into corners three-wide in the constant jostle for position -
it’s a good job that the Red Bull Ring offers incredible panoramic views! The circuit is one of the only ones in the world where all three sectors of the racetrack are visible from some of the seats. The huge elevation offers fans across the circuit unparalleled views of the entire race – not just the corner in front of their stand.
The rural setting not only offers a stunning backdrop to the on-track drama, but it has also bred an iconic culture for camping at the circuit. Thousands of racing fans camp at a racetrack every year, which inevitably leads to huge parties and a real festival vibe. Whether you're looking to party all night or simply chill and enjoy the race, the five campsites within walking distance of the circuit offer all racegoers a once in a lifetime experience in the dramatic Austrian mountains.
